This track is called “Lowlands.” I release this song respectfully remembering the struggles of African Americans who are equally valuable to God as any other shade of skin, yet who have in times past not been valued equally by all mankind. I recorded this song before the events of 2020, and it was to me simultaneously a beautiful aspirational song and a lament. “Lowlands” is about a man weary of being under-appreciated and discounted, and wanting to go home. Like the man in this song, when I feel low and unseen, I always count on my mother to “see” me, and she never lets me down! Maybe you have a person like that in your life, too.

God sees us where we are and He cares for us all, so much so, He sent His only Son to be the sacrifice for our sins to redeem us back to Himself. John 3:16 Jesus is the equalizer. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28.
